Do you suffer from morning achiness? Find relief with physiotherapy.

Are you experiencing discomfort and aches throughout the day? Many sufferers experience stiff joints and sore muscles during the early morning.

There can be a range of reasons, and the degree of pain ranges from moderate to severe in certain instances. The pain and aches that occur during the day are not just uncomfortable, they may restrict your mobility throughout the morning.

Therapy for pain and physiotherapy

Being hydrated, eating well, and working out regularly can ease discomfort and aches during the day. The help of a physiotherapist may aid these aches.

Therapists will perform a thorough assessment of your health condition, lifestyle, sleeping habits, and medical issues. A physiotherapist will also instruct exercises that you can practice every morning before you first rise from your bed. The routine you are given by your therapist may focus on specific areas of pain, such as your back and shoulders.

A physiotherapist could also recommend various sleeping positions that could help reduce the amount of pain you feel each morning. A physiotherapy plan can be developed to address the pain and discomfort you experience specifically. This might include manual therapy, cold and hot therapy, as well as sensory re-education.

What is causing me the pain and aches?

Injury, accidents, or chronic health conditions can cause chronic pain.

Pains and aches in the morning may be the result of one of the following reasons:

  • Diet: A lifestyle that is loaded with processed and fast food can trigger inflammation in joints. A high intake of red meat and sugar may also trigger pain and discomfort.

  • Arthritis: If you're experiencing any kind of arthritis, the soreness and pain may be more prevalent early in the morning.

  • Chronic inflammation: Low-grade inflammation is often the reason in the morning when you experience morning pains and aches. The stiffness and inflammation you feel that occurs in the morning get worse with age.

  • Poor sleeping positions: Aches and discomforts during the day are typically caused by uncomfortable sleeping positions. Sometimes, the cause is the wrong mattress or pillows.

The Better Sleep Council recommends replacing your mattress every 7 to 10 years. How you feel at the beginning of the day is a more reliable indicator that you're ready to upgrade your sleeping surface.

If your mattress used to be comfortable, but it is now appearing to be the cause of your pain and ache,s it could be the right time to change it. Physical changes such as surgeries, injuries, or weight changes can alter the body's position when you sleep, which requires the need to change your mattress.
