The assessment involves; functional movement, balance, co-ordination, strength, endurance, sensation, alterations of muscle tone and gait, impact of injury or disability, return to work and other physical abilities.
Active treatment and education are used to restore movement, reduce pain and manage fatigue. The modalities used for treatments are; Laser, Ultrasound, Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TNS) and Functional Electrical Nerve Stimulation (FES). Mobilization, Craniosacral Therapy, Acupressure, Connective Tissue Massage and Stretching are usually performed manually by the Physiotherapist.
The TMJ is a complicated joint that usually involves a coordinated approach involving several health disciplines. Our Physiotherapists assess the biomechanical function of the jaw and subsequent treatments are directed at restoring normal joint motion. This evaluation will also help to determine the extent to which the cervical spine and its associated muscles are impacting TMJ.

Dizziness and imbalance are common complaints heard by family physicians. Sometimes dizziness and imbalance are caused by disease, recent medications or injury affecting the inner ear and/or its connections to the brain.
